A resurgent Daniil Medvedev won his first trophy for over two years with success over Corentin Moutet in the tournament championship match.

Medvedev, a ex- top-ranked player, has endured a difficult period, winning just one match at the major tournaments and suffering a setback at the US Open.

The player's unpredictability on the tennis tour - and struggles with his serving in especial - resulted in him falling of the world's top 10 and finally splitting with long-term coach Gilles Cervara.

Currently collaborating with his coach and his other coach, he has gradually progressed in the recent weeks - culminating in a tightly fought competitive win over Frenchman Corentin Moutet.

This marks Medvedev's maiden trophy since the 2023 Rome Masters and initial on a hard court from spring of 2023.

Victory also means he has won 21 titles at twenty-one various tournaments.

"This victory is in tribute of my child my daughter, because the first title I got when my first daughter my daughter was born was for her."

The tennis star, the former major winner, had lost his previous six championship matches, featuring in Halle in the past months.

The player's counter-punching play style and regular reactions on the playing surface had caused commentators to doubt if his capacity to compete at the highest level was over.

However the player has altered his approach in the past month, making an effort to approach the net and play positively, backed up by an better serve.

Medvedev recovered from a disadvantage in the initial set against the difficult opponent, winning 4 of the concluding five exchanges to gain the advantage.

Both players traded break points in the second set before the challenger, attempting for his initial tour victory, gained dominance to force a third set.

He defended 4 early-game break points in a tight final set before Medvedev secured a break to that score to close out the victory.

Appropriately, Medvedev secured the win with a shot at the net area, with his opponent failing to control a volley after two hours and 38 minutes.
